What's Happening at the Arc of Frederick County
This year, The Arc celebrates 15 Years of Supports in Allegany County! Starting with establishing supports for one person, a small group of families soon approached our chapter to expand to Western Maryland. These families were particularly interested in assistance that built upon existing natural supports. They desired a partnership with a provider, where they would have choice and authority, as well as help so they didn't need to do everything themselves. With 4 knowledgeable and helpful Support Coordinators and more than 60 caring and skilled Direct Support Professionals, The Arc of Frederick County celebrates expanding to serve over 100 people in Allegany County!
Creative expression opens doors to confidence, connection, and conversation! The Arc is grateful for our partnership with Delaplaine Arts Center where there are no limits to how people can share their unique voices! We value the opportunity to create inclusive experiences where artists can explore, express, and enjoy the freedom of being creative!
The Arc values the joy that third spaces offer to everyone in our community. Arc Support Coordinators partner with families and individuals to organize teams of Director Support Professionals so each person receives individualized assistance to be a part of the vibrant and unique Frederick community where people live, work, and thrive while enjoying a strong sense of place and belonging. We appreciate that this vision is a goal of our local elected officials and can be lived out in the day-to-day services The Arc provides.
