Support Coordination
The Arc helps persons with developmental disabilities and their families obtain the services they need and want in order to become as independent as possible. The Arc seeks creative and cost-effective solutions to help people with developmental disabilities aspire to meet their goals.
The Arc offers support to children and their families and to adults. Because each person and each family has unique needs and desires, services are customized to fit each family's requests. Services should change as do the needs of the family. Some examples include, but are not limited to:
- Create services that are needed, but not available
- Assist in times of crisis and help to solve problems
- Teach adults skills that further their independence
- Purchase special equipment that helps with mobility and communication
- Help families obtain respite care
- Link people with their communities and expand their friendships
- Help children participate in neighborhood educational programs and recreational activities with children who do not have disabilities
- The "Real World" Experience to help individuals learn the skills to live own their own.
We have developed one-page brochures that describe our supports and activities. You can download the brochure as a PDF version, or view most of them as a JPG without downloading. (Adobe Acrobat required for PDF versions.)
